post construction cleaningThrough the years, the professionals at Pinheiro’s Cleaning have learned a thing or two about cleaning homes, businesses, and other spaces. There are a few secrets we have picked up. Here’s one of them.

Cleaning thoroughly is important. But cleaning efficiently is even more critical. Especially if you have dozens of homes or businesses you need to clean in a single day. The most efficient way to clean any space is to start in one spot and then work out from there.

Cleaning Smarter Not Harder

This may sound obvious and simple. But it’s actually a tactical approach to cleaning that genuinely works.

For example, let’s say you are cleaning a living room. Now you could have several professional cleaners all working at the same time cleaning a different part of the room. One person might vacuum the carpeting. Another might be dusting. A third could be polishing glass or straightening up pillows or cushions.

But unless they all start in the same spot and work out there is going to be duplication of cleaning tasks, new messes caused by other people cleaning, and general inefficiency that is going to increase the time it takes to clean the area as well as decrease the quality of the cleaning.

Start High, Work Down

Instead, the sensible way to clean is to start in one spot — usually one of the upper corners of the room — then work down and out. That way no one area gets cleaned more than once and there aren’t any inefficiencies caused by multiple people cleaning the same area.

Under the first model, the person dusting the floor may be pushing dirt and debris onto carpeting that has already been vacuumed. But when you start from an upper spot and work down and out, all the dirt is pushed forward and cleaned up at the end.
